NEW! Quality Speed Test
The new MyConnection PC Quality Speed Test uniquely measures packet flow and packet health to identify connection errors that cause slow throughput resulting in a poor user experience.
Application Speed Test
The new MyConnection PC Quality Speed Test uniquely measures packet flow and packet health to identify connection errors that cause slow throughput resulting in a poor user experience.
Automated testing
Allows the testing process to run at regular intervals. This allows the test process to identify problems that occur over time sleeping hours without the test process becoming a burden. Consistent data collection helps the ISP to more quickly accept and resolve issues.
Capacity Speed Test
Measures the connection 'capacity'. Most Internet speed testers measure capacity and report the result as speed, however capacity speed only determines the amount of data a pipe will hold, in most cases is not a true speed measure.
VoIP Quality Test
Measures connection quality for VoIP data and reports the packet Jitter and packet Loss. High packet loss and Jitter result in garbled voice and/or dropped calls making VoIP unusable.
Route Speed Test
The routing test measures the route between the two testing points to identify issues that affect performance. The route graph reports the performance and quality of each network segment (or 'hop') to pinpoint where problems originate.
Forced Idle Test
The Forced idle test identifies the impact the connection latency has on throughput speed. If the end-to-end latency exceeds the consumption time of TCP data window then the excess time creates idle time on the connection. This idle time slows application performance.
Ramp Speed
The Time Variation test is designed to discover if the speed test is being affected by regulation. For example boosting policies allow a connection to start fast and then slow (or vice-versa). Some ISPs use this technique to give browser and speed test users a good initial experience while larger transfers, such as videos or music do not get the benefit.
